RICSexamsfollowed,thenayearpreparingfortheAssessmentofProfessionalCompetence(APC), culminatinginpassingalargevaluationtestwithafinalinterviewwhichcompletedthequalification process.ThisgavehimanexcellentgroundingasaGeneralValuer,enhancedbythetrainingandcoaching at Phillips which was second to none. ItwasthiscombinationofbothacademicandpracticalknowledgethatenabledGerrytoundertake written,probate,marketandinsurancevaluationstoahigherstandardfortheensuing20years.Furthermore, it also made him a better auctioneer due to his experience and contacts.
